NACE Update from President Rich Sanders

As we approach Thanksgiving and Christmas, I want to let everyone know how thankful I am to have had the opportunity to be your NACE President this year. It has been a joy to serve you over the last 7 months.

Thanksgiving and Christmas offer us opportunities for family gatherings and times for reflection. Now is the perfect time to thank God for His blessings. Ruth and I have been blessed with a new grandson. Weston Charles Sanders, son of our son Jake and his wife Jensen, was born November 14 at 8:12 am. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 6 oz., is 20 ½” long. He is healthy and, of course, perfect. Our little 17-month old granddaughter, Eden, is a wonderful big sister and looking for ways, she can help. Ruth and I have also been blessed this year with a new son-in-law, Jon Laudner, married to our daughter Rachel on June 23. We are in good health (although, you know we are over 50 so everything starts to ache), we have good jobs, we celebrated our 33rd Anniversary, and we have been extremely blessed to spend time with good NACE friends in Washington, Alabama and Texas.

As you get older, you realize all that you are blessed with. Spending the last 27 years in Polk County is a blessing. Being part of two great organizations, Minnesota County Engineers and NACE, is a blessing. Being free to go and do what you want when you want is a blessing.

This year, NACE is blessed to have Kevan Stone, Staci Morgan and Connie Radoulovitch running our office. If you ever have a chance to stop by, please do so as they would love to see you.  Our finances are stable, and we are seeing new members and sponsors join our ranks. As President, I am looking forward to 2019 and what NACE can do for all our members. I am looking forward to handing the reigns over to Tim Hens and watching NACE flourish under his leadership. I am also looking forward to seeing all of you in Wichita, Kansas!

Hoping you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
